sweet!

Here's what we've been up to here ... cupcakes and hot cocoa ... and then I got a cold. A bad one ... good thing I had a cupcake while I could still taste them!

back in the saddle again ...

Well, after months of cold, rain and snow, Kate finally got back to riding today. It has been a long time and she missed it - a LOT! This isn't the horse she rides, but she looked so cute, I snapped her picture.

hearts and flowers

We are overcome with flowers here ... my husband surprised me with these, and I thought they were too pretty not to share. The hearts? Heart shaped brownies I am baking. Hmm ... a house that smells of flowers and chocolate. What could be better?

dreaming of spring

Clearly, we have gone over the flower bend here! The morning light looked so pretty I had to snap it up! I love flowers all year round - in the winter, they are a reminder that spring will come back. In the spring, those first blooms coming through are like finally taking a deep breath of cool crisp air. In the summer, they are lush and full. And in the fall, I get them for my birthday!

where has the time gone ...

I have been out of the loop for a bit here. Very busy with work, and commitments and otherwise. Plus it has been dreadfully cold and snowy here! One of the lovely things though, that has been around here is the lovely smell of spring! I found these hyacinths at my local market and oh do I wish you could smell them! Just beyond the window was winter, but these warmed up the whole room!
