some cake projects

These are a few of the reasons why my posts were spotty in May and June. Then add to it the usual end of the school year rush, and all the kids' events and parties and birthdays .... and phew! But you know how it is! Hope you like these ...

by the seashore ...

One of the best parts about where we live is going to the beach often. It is about 20 minutes either north or south - depending on the beach ... The other night, we watched the sun setting over the water. It is always so beautiful. The kids had friends with them, and were busy doing rope climbing anyway, but the grown ups got to appreciate it. (Though my husband did get up there and climb too! It was funny to see him up there with all these kids. It was more than 30 feet up - those kids were pretty brave!)

on and on and on ...

I am so glad we finally have that gorgeous, warm, sultry summer weather. The cooler days were gorgeous too, but summer needs a little swelter, I think. The sky is gorgeous and clear. The air feels hot on your skin. The flowers explode in the fields ... This was taken at the farm where we buy our veggies in the summer. Glad I had my little camera stowed in my bag. Definitely click to enlarge - you feel like the flowers are right there...

she sells seashells

It is definitely a seashore kind of day here! Hot and sunny, with just a tiny bit of a breeze...
the beach is definitely calling today. Put a shell to your ear and listen to the waves...

just because ...

Its been a while ... been busy busy busy ... kids, work, relaxing... yes, I was busy relaxing. If you do it right, its an art form ... I love the hazy dreamy almost filmy days of summer. After weeks of cool weather, summer has finally come to NY. It is hot, but it forces you to slow down and relax a bit .... I have posted some pictures of recent projects on facebook, but I need to upload my other card to put them here. Lots of flowers, cakes and even a crazy daisy cake!
