spring is in the air ...

And heading for summer! It is hard to believe that after a cold and rainy week - cold for April, at least - we are going to be in the 80's here this weekend. Oh, my toes feel toasty just thinking of it - it is a 35 degree difference! A few flowers have poked thorough here, though not too many. I think these tulips are just the sweetest reminder of what's ahead. If asked, I don't think I would pick tulips as one of my favorite flowers, but somehow, they just grab me, over and over again! And I think that this particular combination of pink and green is as soft and romantic as they come. When they open, there are extra layers of petals inside - they almost look like peonies. And I love peonies. I have been doing a lot of experimenting with photographing flowers, so many more of those to come...

we're back ...sort of

So it has been a looonnnng while since I have posted! That bad cold lasted a while, then I felt better but was super busy, and then I got another bad cold, which lasted for a week before it turned into an extra nasty case of bronchitis. After all of that, a TON of computer woes, the last of which was that devastating April 1 virus which completely took down my computer. Between all of that I have been taking some classes, and then a bit of travel, so here we are ... phew! Unfortunately, I can't edit, or sign or anything on this older computer, it just can't handle too much, but at least we are up and running again.
OK, this just caught my eye - my sister had these tulips in front of a basket of oranges, and I liked the way the deep pink played against the orange. Sometimes, it's just that simple.
