missing …

I’ve been a bad blogger lately.  Tons of snow on the ground and more arriving each week.  Too cold to spend much time outdoors.  Not a lot of inspiration.  But I have been a good mom.  So I can’t complain and the kiddos are happy.  One thing that has happened, is that most nights, I shut down the computer for dinner and don’t go back on.  I realized, these little people are in high school and middle school, and I don’t want to look back and say I wasted time I should have spent with them.  Another thing that has happened is the kids have had friends over more often.  And the last thing is, I’ve been on a baking bender again.  So it’s all good things, but nothing too exciting to blog.  But I’ll leave you with a picture of a cupcake my son was enjoying.  I didn’t get any pictures of the best looking ones – the kids seem to eat those first - but I think they came out cute and they were a fun thing to do on a snow day.  Hope you’re all having a great week.

Best,

Stephanie

  1. I love your attitude Stephanie and the cupcake!
    Great photos!

In my early blogging years, I shut down the computer every evening at about 7pm. Then I bought the laptop and I was on the computer later. I am making a concentrated effort to only spend a few hours a day online. I might check a couple of times after 7, but I am not sitting glued to the monitor all night, these days.:-) Feels pretty good!

  3. I don't think I've baked cupcakes since my girls were still home. And that's been quite awhile! I'm glad we didn't have the internet then. I'd have felt the same way about the kids.

  4. Stephanie you are an awesome Mom. Making memories beats time in front of the computer hands down. Hugs!
P.S. the rainbow cupcake looks delish.

  5. My dil does not go on the computer at all. With the 4 kids, she has no time. So she doesn't know what she is missing!
    The cupcake looks good!

  6. You are doing the right thing by sharing time with your family. The computer will be there, but the children grown up and are gone.

  7. That is a really cute cupcake, Stephanie! And I like your idea of staying off the computer at night. I've been doing the same thing, even though it calls my name in the evenings, I resist!

{I hope this isn't a duplicate comment...blogger seems to have eaten my last one...} xo
