random thoughts …

073e

1.  Still busy as can be here, on all fronts from work to home.   I think it is a definite fact of motherhood these days that the more we get into warmer weather, the more the kids’ schedules really ramp up.   It’s like “Ready, Set …. SPRING!”  And all of the sports and school functions that go along with it.  I just keep saying to myself: “It’s a good kind of busy.”

2.   My grandmother is suffering from a very bad cold.  And even though a cold isn’t normally a huge deal, she is in her hundreds, so it is for her.   Please keep a good thought for her.   Thanks.

3.   I tried the new Crest 2 hour whitening strips on Sunday.  It is about $50 for a pack, though I had a $10 off coupon, for a year’s worth of treatments.  I can’t say I like the feeling of the strips on my teeth for two hours, but I can say I’ve been grinning like a fool every time I get near a mirror.  They really do work!

4.    I’m not a huge fan of American Idol, but I have been watching with the kids this year.  Mostly because I really get a kick out of Steven Tyler’s reactions.  But can I tell you that the 13 year old girl that lives in my heart thinks that boy Scotty is so cute?

5.   I heard a snippet of this song on a commercial, and I think it’s really sweet.   It’s a remake of “Don’t Fence Me In”.  I just checked the site, and the singer is offering a free download on his page:  Daniel.  Hope you enjoy it.  And maybe they’ll do a video of it, since this photo looks a little “police line-up” to me.

See? I told you it was random.   Hope you’re all having a great week.

Best,

Stephanie

  1. Thinking of your Grandmother, Stephanie!

I had the trays from the dentist for whitening. They are like the clear brace trays. It took some getting used to, but like you, I haven't stopped smiling since I first started that journey in 1999.:-)

  2. Random thoughts are good thoughts Stephanie, just keep them coming. Glad to hear Spring is in the air and I do hope this helps in your grandmother's recovery :) Good for you for keeping up with the whiteners...my teeth are too sensitive ;(. I have not seen American Idol but I have been reading great things about Steven Tyler. Everyone seems to like him. I like this song...thanks for sharing.

I was watching the news last night...what is up with Charlie Sheen??
I think he as lost the plot...very sad when that happens to people. I think he needs to grow up. There....I added another random thought to your list :)

  5. Love random thoughts as these pass through my blogged out brain constantly... I, too, love Crest's white strips and think my smile is getting almost as white as Paul McDonald's on American Idol. I watch the show, too, and the kids get a great kick out of Steven Tyler's "bleeps"! Scotty may just turn me into a country music fan :)

  7. My Mom has the sniffles too, and she's 85, so we worry incase she gets any kind of infection! Hope our Grandma is well soon.
I've tried some whitening strips but I hated the ones I had to leave in for 30 mins (preferred the 5 min ones best) so I doubt I could last two hours with them in. Glad they're working for you though.

  8. I never have gotten brave enough to try any teeth whitening. I enjoyed all the various subjects you shared today. "Don't be discouraged. It's often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock".

  9. Thinking of your grandma and hoping she gets better quick. I know just how dangerous a cold is to the elderly.

  10. Aw, sorry to hear that your grandma is ill. I'll be thinking of her and saying prayers for her quick recovery.

I'm making Doug watch American Idol - LOVE the talent on this season and I also love watching Steven Tyler's reactions. I'm actually quite impressed with him. He is very kind to the contestants and I like that.

    Happy upcoming Spring, Steph!!! xo
