thank you!

A lot of thank you’s are needed this week.   The first goes to the best husband in the world for many happy years together.  Here’s to many many more!  (We’re celebrating our anniversary this week!)  The photo should give you an idea of how loved I’m feeling.  (The short ones are from the kiddos.)

And the second thank you goes out to all of you.  As you may know, there have been a lot of posts, particularly in the photography community, concerning a young mother who just lost her battle with ovarian cancer, leaving behind a young family.    Another of my favorite bloggers, the lovely Deb at Paper Turtle, just lost her mom to the same disease.  And while the losses can leave you reeling, I also am left with a sense of thanks.  First, that these lovely people out there have shared their lives with us, people who they otherwise would not have had a chance to meet.   And second, at the outpouring of love and support – again, some of it between people who had never met in person.

There’s a lot of press out there about blogging making people feel bad, copying and one-upmanship.   But I’m here to tell you, the beauty that you all bring into the world is so much more than the negatives some people complain about.  So thank you, and bless you, to every single one of you who was ever moved to offer words of kindness and prayers and love to another blogger, to another woman somewhere out there in the world who needed the support.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.   You make the internet a beautiful place

Best,
Stephanie

  3. My dear Stephanie ~ Thank YOU for this lovely post. I have been trying to write a similar post and just don't have the words yet. The outpouring of love and support from my blog friends over the past couple of weeks has been amazing, overwhelming, comforting, and...well...just awesome. I'm sorry to hear that a young mother lost her life to such a horrible disease. I hope that her family has half the support that I have had this month, as it has made a huge difference in my ability to put one foot in front of the other!

PS: A very happy anniversary to you and yours, dear one! xo
