some more kindle love

By now, you all know I love my Kindle.  But I am also loving my Kindle accessories.  You can get anything from a simple black zip around case, to a beautiful leather one.   There are dozens of choices.  The two I chose are below.   The first one is actually a deep cherry color, not quite as maroon as the photo.  The second, and the one I use most often, is the green bamboo print by the well known Halsea.  They have luggage that matches it, but I don’t really like that much matching!  The little book light completes the Kindle for travel.  I mostly read it without a cover, but if I want to take my Kindle with me, I tuck it into the case to protect it.  After 6 months of wear, they still look like new.

That little inside pocket is perfect for a hotel room key or credit card.

Another great thing about the Kindle is that the books are less expensive than buying them at the bookstore.  Most hard covers are $10, and most paperbacks are about $5.   But I sat down and looked at my purchases the other night, and I realized that not only has the Kindle paid for itself with the money I saved on buying books, but I also saved an additional $500 off bookstore prices.   And I’ve only had it about ten months.  Not too bad, I think.

Amazon didn’t pay me for this post.  But I think they should have!

Best,

Stephanie

  1. Slowly but surely, you are convincing me to buy a Kindle. I have been resisting though not sure why. It would be nice to save some money as my book budget, to say nothing about the storage, is a bit out of hand. XO

  2. I want a Kindle so bad but I just got an IPod Touch. I am going to have to wait a while. I have about 200 books at home right now to read so I just can't justify it.

  3. Hi Stephanie,
I have a nook which I got for Christmas and I must admit, I am still getting used to it. Something about the feel of a book that I love--but for convenience, you can't beat the Kindle or Nook. Have a great day!

  7. Beautiful cases. I really like the dark cherry one. I don't have a Kindle yet, but am hoping to get one by summer.

  8. Agree and how wonderful are those cases?! They are enough to make me buy a kindle! By the way, how is kindle in the dark? Hubby does not like the lights on when I crawl into bed after blogging till the wee hours of the night. I have been relying on reading the news on my iphone but am thinking the kindle would be perfect for those occasions. How is the background light? Would you suggest a nite light as well?
    Thx..Jeanne :)
