hello friends…

Phipps 28ws

“The Earth laughs in flowers.”  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

These tulips made me think of this quote.   Mother Nature definitely was smiling when she made these beauties.  It’s still cold in New York, and the winter isn’t showing any signs of letting go with snow in the forecast for tomorrow.   Thank goodness for local nurseries and greenhouses that keep us going.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Best,

Stephanie

  3. Though the trees outside my office window are sprouting buds so clearly the balmy winter has confused Mother Nature a bit this year!

  4. I love the quote and those tulips!! Things are looking a bit dreary outside...but we're on the back side of winter, so I'm hoping we'll see some color next month!!!

Hope you've had a relaxing weekend, Stephanie!!

  6. Those tulips are so pretty and I have always loved that quote. When my son was little we used to go to a greenhouse in South Salem, NY on cold winter days and he and his friend would run around between the rows of plants playing hide and seek. And then we would buy tulips!

  7. The tulips are so cheerful! It's hard to believe it's already mid February. I did a Valentines post this morning and just kept wondering where the days have gone. I guess the month of March is always the hardest month to get through because we are all so eager for spring.
    Happy Valentine's Day, Stephanie!

  8. Oh I love tulips. There is something so innocent and yet so sophisticated about them. And those in your beautiful photo are definitively smiling!
